EPS8 and EPS9 are simple copper pairs that BT provide between your sites - EPS8 is a two pair circuit and EPS9 is a single pair. They are routed through the local exchange so both sites must be on the same exchange. Using the baseband modems in this section an EPS9 circuit will give speeds up to 2.3Mbps (in each direction simultaneously), and on an EPS8 circuit 4.6Mbps can be achieved. As a guide, maximum bandwidth can be expected with circuits up to 4Km long. Between 4Km and 6Km the units will negotiate the best possible speed, downshifting in 256K bps increments as necessary. To visit BT pages showing pricing and other information about their EPS8 and 9 circuits click here.
